First Journal Entry...

Sat Sep 26, 2009, 10:01 AM
...And it'll be very brief.

Just wanted to say that I've missed DA the last few months - I've been away travelling around in relative isolation and for some odd reason continually neglected to find an internet connection. Perhaps I should become a monk. Yes... perhaps. Not sure about the haircut, though. I could always wear a hat.

Anyway! I'm looking forwards to browsing as much artwork as I can on here, I'm eager to see what people have been upto, as I admire so many people's work on here.

Note to self: try not to get so sidetracked and upload something soon.

Lee

  • Listening to: Beethoven, Elliot Goldenthal, Elbow, Queen Adreena
  • Reading: A few old science textbooks from the late 70's
  • Watching: Lovely cloud formations
  • Playing: Good Times, Bad Times on my guitar, loudly.
  • Eating: Homemade scotch broth.
  • Drinking: Cherry Coke.

He, I really love your concepts. They're among the coolest creatures I've seen so far on DA and that includes the works of Abiogenesis and Nemo Ramjet.

One technical consideration: Recently I discovered a website about xenobiology. They were bascially trying to picture what would be the most likely features of alien lifeforms (yes, I know, that sounds fairly optimistic, to say the least :D ).
One of their conclusions was that it would be very unlikely to find a complex alien with no eyes (as eyes have evolved so many times on earth) or an alien with more than 2 eyes. They said more than 2 eyes would require to much nerv and brain capacity for a ridiculous output. Which kinda disturbed me since I like to scetch aliens with lots of eyes, and so do many others...

We laugh at souls trapped in hell just as we laugh at old people- most of us will get there, sooner or later, but we like to forget that.

...and thanks for the watch, I'm flattered!
:)

Beautiful, beautiful work; you're doing exactly the kind of thing I would like to see so much more of, both on dA and in general. Please keep it up!
:icondracontes:
Thank you very much for reciprocating :)

I can't promise much activity in the near future. Y'know, college and all that :P

Thankyou! I've been offline since before xmas, only just got on and checked out your page... Your R. Crumb drawing is insanely good! The man himself would appreciate it, no doubt
:icongastrolito:
Thanks! Though I don't think surly grumpy Crumb would be very interested xD

I don't quite get your deviation comments. What's that "chain" you're talking about? What are you doing?

Those are certainly not ordinary monotremes!
